Five years ago, the Morgan County Tourism Alliance decided to take on our very first project and called it Morgan County Mountain Laurel Walk. The first year we had the celebration at the Visitor Center in Wartburg. It was a fun day, even with all the rain. Learning from our mistakes and accomplishments, we decided to have the next festival downtown Wartburg, TN around courthouse square. We then changed the name to Morgan County Mountain Laurel Festival.
The event became so popular and the fact that we were the only county in Tennessee with a mountain laurel festival, we decided to change the name again to Tennessee Mountain Laurel Festival!
In celebrating this year's anniversary, on Saturday, May 18, 2019, we will be bringing new events to the festival, including "Wine Tasting", "Pet Contest", Carriage Rides" , "DIY Tee shirt printing" and a special music event on Friday night before the festival. We will continue to have our vendors, food, BBQ contest, live bands during the day, just to name a few. We are still in the planning stages.
But please mark your calendar for one of the most beautiful times in our county - when the mountain laurel blooms! For more information, please see our website: tnmlf.com and our factbook page: @tnmlf.com
Hope to see you there!
