The Volunteer members of The Morgan County Tourism Alliance (MCTA) greet the new year of 2021 as the year of OPPORTUNITY - OPPORTUNITY to extend an invitation to those who live outside our county to experience our hospitality and explore our many avenues of interest.
The people of our county are ready to greet you with a friendly welcome.
The year 2020 challenged us all, but we have met the challenge head on.
The historic Tanner Store building was acquired by MCTA. It has been in continuous remodeling and restoration and planning for opening in spring/summer 2021. It will serve as a community gathering place with light refreshments (the highlight being the old soda/ice cream fountain), a free web service and mail receiving address to any and all travelers and a tourism information center.
2021 will bring to Morgan County additional lodging, campgrounds, boutiques, antique stores, eateries and activities. We are always exploring ways we can benefit visitors and citizens alike.
We of Morgan County feel we are THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME to visit with unlimited physical space. So many options from which to choose when you are in our area of the Cumberland Plateau.
Morgan County has over 75,000 recreational acreage giving OPPORTUNIY for multiple outdoor activities. The 1880 historic village of Rugby and the rejuvenated Brushy Mountain Penitentiary are but two historic sites one may visit. New and unique breweries such as the Lilly Pad Hopyard brewery and the MoCo Brewing Project are open and ready to serve a refreshing beverage.
So much to do. So little space to tell.
We invite you to give us the OPPORTUNITY to extend our grateful appreciation to you in choosing Morgan County to make MOUNTAIN MEMORIES.
