FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Morgan County Tourism Alliance Presents 2nd Annual Morgan County Squarecrow Showcase during the month of October 2021. Wartburg, Tennessee – The Morgan County Tourism Alliance (MCTA) will host the 2nd Annual Squarecrow Showcase from October 1-31, 2021 in the Morgan County Courthouse Square featuring fall themed “Squarecrows” created by individuals/families, civic, non-profit organizations, schools, churches, clubs, businesses and government departments from across the county.

The fun competition will allow community members to show off their creativity in fall themed displays while competing for cash prizes and bragging rights. The entire community can get involved by viewing the displays in-person and voting for their favorite displays in the People’s Choice category between October 1-30, 2020.

All votes made in person will be added to the social media contest tally, which will run concurrently on the Morgan County Tourism Alliance Official Facebook page.

The displays also make great seasonal photo opportunities (Be sure to tag your social media photos #mctamoco.) Winners in the showcase will be announced at the Trunk or Treat on the Square on October 30, 2020 (Winners do not have to be present to win) Entry fees are $20 for individual/family, school and non-profit participants and $40 for businesses, civic and church organizations, clubs and government offices.

Sponsorships are also available for $100 which includes showcase entry and inclusion in event advertising and a listing on the event web page. Examples of Squarecrow entries from last year’s contest to be used as inspiration can be found on the Morgan County Tourism Alliance website https://www.mctamoco.com/rules-entry-form-and-sponsor-letter. Rules and Entry Forms can also be found on the MCTA website.

“Last year’s inaugural event really added a festive and creative element to the Courthouse Square,” event organizer George Hawver stated. “It was nice to hear the comments from people, especially children who were drawn to the imaginative displays. I’m hoping for even more participation this year and look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity.” The Morgan County Tourism Alliance is a volunteer organization dedicated to development and promotion of tourism in the county and surrounding area.
