Morgan County - Winter Wonderland - George hawver

Updated: Feb 6, 2022

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but all play and no rest makes Jack cranky! While you’re visiting, make sure you schedule enough time to see the sights if you wish, or just find a place to relax, unplug and unwind from your busy life. Morgan County offers varied lodging opportunities for our visitors such as Farmhouses, cabins and even Victorian homes and Inns. We’ve highlighted a few of the unique places to stay in Morgan County during the winter . More information about these and others can be found on the www.mctamoco.com/lodging.com webpage with links to their Airbnb pages.

The Old Log Cabin in Harmony Hollow

You know you are in a special place when you are welcomed by hosts Brenda and Jim, with a plateful of homemade cookies and enter your warm and cozy cabin heated by a pellet stove. Harmony Hollow is a secluded country setting that offers privacy, peace and quiet, yet is only a short drive from the county’s parks and natural attractions. Unplug from modern life by relaxing on the front porch, hiking alongside the nearby creek or hanging out in the beautiful restored American Chestnut cabin. This old cabin was moved log by log and reassembled by Jim Duke. (Airbnb Super Hosts)

Grey Gables Bed & Breakfast Inn

Return to a time and place where the innkeeper welcomes you with genuine hospitality and a hearty meal in the evening before you retire into one of several tastefully and individually decorated country-Victorian bedrooms for the night. Proprietor Linda Brooks-Jones’ culinary skills are legendary and the author of two cookbooks and hostess who has welcomed a U.S. President and a Tennessee Governor into her inn ensures all visitors are treated like VIPs. In the morning, you are presented with a southern breakfast fit for a king (or President/Governor) before you begin your adventures outside, or stay in and relax by the fireplace, view old movies or shows on TV, play cards or board games or curl up with a good book. greygablesbedandbreakfasttn.com

The cabin is tucked between a rolling pasture and tranquil woods and is located a few miles from the Obed Wild and Scenic River. Curl up by the woodstove in this pet-friendly open cabin that offers a clean respite from a busy life. (Airbnb Super Hosts)
