Letter from the Chairman
The Tennessee Mountain Laurel Festival is set for Saturday, May 15, 2021! After an unanimous decision, the group voted in favor of conducting this year’s event.
The need to get back to some semblance of normal from COVID is of more dire need now than ever. We recognize that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exist in any public place where people are present, and that possibility still exist today even given the vaccines.
We have put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 such as hand-washing stations and hand sanitizers throughout the festival area. We encourage the use of a mask however do not require the use, as well we encourage the practicing of physical distancing whenever possible. We do this with the sole premise in mind, “Balancing Public Safety with the Preservation of Civil Rights.”
The following declaration will apply for all attendees that choose to join us in the set up and presentation of the festival:
“By attending the Tennessee Mountain Laurel Festival, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Morgan County Tourism Alliance; the Morgan County Government; the City of Wartburg; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.”
We are excited and wish to see everyone at the festival.
LET’S HAVE SOME FREEDOM AND LOTS OF FUN!
Sincerely,
Mark H. Kick
Chairman
